I woke up this morning with the tune to Summertime in my head. Any oldies but goodies out there remember that song.
Here are the lyrics:
“Summertime, and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy’s rich and your ma is good-lookin’
So hush little baby, Don’t you cry.”
So how is your summertime going?
Are you livin’ easy?
Enjoying your kids and letting them enjoy you?
Have you slowed down the pace to take time to just be with them?
Time flies when your having fun so they tell us. It my experience
times flies even if you’re not having fun so seize the moments.
Like the song continues:
“One of these mornings you’re gonna rise up singing
And you’ll spread your wings and you’ll take to the sky
But ’til that morning, there ain’t nothin’ can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin’ by.”
Before you know it the kids will be out and about without you.
Activities are fine as long as they are bringing you guys together.
Played any broad games lately?
Have you thought of making a board game together?
What are your kids interested in or what do you want them to be interested in?
You can make a board with questions to advance to the finish line. Advance
so many spaces for a right answer or have a consequence for a wrong answer.
Make fun consequences like hopping on one foot and singing a silly song.
Start getting categories of questions, make cards and play.
Happy Summer days
